Assoc Professor Chiew Wong

A/Professor Chiew Wong is a Cardiologist subspecialising in Diagnostic Cardiology and cardiac imaging (certified Cardiac MRI, Advanced Level Echo specialist, Advanced level Cardiac CT specialist). His interests also include valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, Cardiovascular Risk Assessment & Management and heart failure management.
He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1994. After completing his cardiology training, he pursued a subspecialty fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging/ Echocardiography and obtained a PhD in Cardiology. He further expanded his cardiac imaging expertise by completing the cardiac CT advanced fellowship at the Cardiovascular Medical Group of Southern California and the Level 2 Cardiac MRI training course, Certificate in Stress CMR at King’s College, London.
As a Clinical Associate Professor for the University of Melbourne, Dr Wong is the Head of Cardiac Imaging at Northern Imaging Victoria, where he engages in clinical teaching, training and education in Cardiac Imaging and PhD student supervision. He is a visiting cardiologist at the Epworth Hospitals.
A/Prof. Wong’s research interests include using Artificial Intelligence in the detection of cardiovascular disease, efficient delivery of cardiac healthcare and early detection and management of preventable cardiac disease. His work has been published in the Lancet, the Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology & the American Journal of Cardiology.
Dr Rachael Lloyd
Cardiologist, Cardiac Imaging Specialist
Dr Rachael Lloyd has completed 2 years of sub-specialisation in cardiac imaging and has expertise in all aspects of echocardiography (transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echo), as well as cardiac MRI and CT.
She graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours before commencing postgraduate physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Prior to commencing her cardiology training, Dr Lloyd obtained her FRACP in general medicine. She is one of a small number who hold dual specialist qualifications in this area and is uniquely qualified to manage patients with both cardiologic and general medicine issues.
With ongoing research interest,s Dr Lloyd has presented both nationally and internationally. She currently holds public appointments at Bendigo and St Vincent's Hospitals. Her areas of interest include valvular heart disease, chest pain assessment, genetic heart disease, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, perioperative medicine and management of cardiac conditions in pregnancy.
