Cardiac Consultation
A cardiology consult is an important step for anyone with heart issues. During this appointment, a cardiologist will evaluate symptoms, check medical history, and perform tests. The goal is to clarify heart health, identify any problems, and create a specific treatment plan. Whether managing current conditions or focusing on prevention, expert advice in cardiology helps patients stay informed and supported for better heart health.
Cardiac consult for Cardiac CT Coronary angiography
Cardiac CT Coronary Angiography (CTCA) is a non-invasive imaging method to visualize the coronary arteries. It uses CT technology to create detailed images of the heart and its blood vessels. CTCA is especially helpful for diagnosing coronary artery disease (CAD), evaluating chest pain, and checking how severe any blockages are.
CTCA has advantages, such as its speed and ability to assess various conditions of the coronary arteries. It can detect not only blockages but also other issues like artery anomalies and vessel hardening. The quick imaging helps reduce motion effects, especially when the heart rate is managed.
However, CTCA has limitations. It may not work well for some patients. Additionally, the use of radiation and contrast dye carries some risks, so careful consideration is necessary before the procedure.
Often a Cardiologist Consultation will be useful in guiding your doctor if the test is appropriate and best suited for you
